This documentary from the PBS video series, “Black in Latin America”, highlights some of the complex relations between Haiti and the Dominican Republic and how the people, music, culture and history reflect shaded nuances of  the Afro-Caribbean-European ancestors. Narrated by Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., the film touches on aspects of everyday life, music, history, culture, race and identity in both countries.
